Koven Moodley
Koven is a science-based, ethical, force-free pet Behaviourist and is passionate about the physical and emotional welfare of animals. She has chosen to follow this passion by working closely with guardians and their canine and feline family members. In addition to ethics, compassion and empathy, she believes in the 4 C's - cues, communication, consent and collaboration when working with animals. She also believes in the education and empowerment of pet guardians by providing information and individualised coaching so that they can grow and nurture their relationship with their furry family members.
Giving back is another strong belief so Koven volunteers at A New Hope Dog Rescue in Johannesburg South, Pretoria Dog Rescue and participates in feeding one of the local feral cat colonies. She is a Mom of 6 rescue dogs who rule her heart and her home. They serve as her teachers and motivation for waking up every morning with gratitude and purpose.
In addition to a business, legal and an IT background, Koven has an advanced qualification in Companion Animal Behaviour and Training which has accreditation with the International Companion Animal Network and the highest CPD points awarded and accredited by the South African Veterinary Council.
She holds memberships with Animal Behaviour Consultants of South Africa, COAPE Association of Applied Pet Behaviourists and Trainers (Practitioner) and the International Companion Animal Network (Practitioner).
Koven is also the first international committee member to serve on the CAPBT (COAPE Association of Applied Pet Behaviourists and Trainers) Committee which is based in the UK.
